Building a thriving, healthy, just, and resilient
regional food system

4th Annual BX Farm Tour

September 21st and 22nd, 10 am - 4 pm

You’re invited to “Know Your Farmer, Explore the BX”—to connect with local food, to better know your farmers and how they are farming, and to explore all the BX has to offer. The BX is a rich agricultural region with lots of walking and hiking trails and is the perfect place to get out and explore your own backyard. This year, each farm has a special something we are featuring to keep it fresh and fun – visit from 10 am to 4 pm to explore our farm stands, engage in self-guided or organized tours, and participate in on-farm events! It will be a fun day for the whole family to enjoy.

What is L2T?

The North Okanagan Land to Table Network (L2T) is a network of individuals and organizations from various sectors of the North Okanagan food system who support the L2T vision. Together we aim to build a thriving, healthy, just, and resilient regional food system that nourishes and connects people, sustains livelihoods, regenerates the environment, and builds community in the North Okanagan.

What does L2T do?

As a regional food system network, our work focuses on identifying local priorities and collaboration opportunities, to undertake projects that aim to grow our local food economy, increase access to local, nutritious food, and build greater food system resilience and justice, including action toward reconciliation. We prioritize two clear project paths: Local Food Procurement through Value Chain Development and Community Food Security. Click below to learn more.

What is a Network?

We believe networks to be an inspiring model for catalyzing change in response to complex social problems. As a network we co-create local solutions based on community strengths, capabilities, and assets, and foster strong connections and relationships as the core of a resilient local food system.

Our L2T network includes key food systems partners such as farmers, food processors, distributors, retailers, chefs, and consumers, in addition to related groups like businesses, government entities, non-profits, academic institutions, and Indigenous communities.

Network Highlight

A Collaborative Approach Across Four Rural Food Banks to Address Unprecedented Demand.

Land to Table is proud to share the results of our Rural Food Banks Study conducted in partnership with Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Institute for Sustainable Food Systems (ISFS). This project was developed in collaboration with Community Connections (Revelstoke) Society, and four rural food banks in the Interior to help understand and co-develop solutions to the unique challenge of feeding people in rural communities in British Columbia in the face of increasing demand for food bank services.
