2021 BX Farm Tour
A self-guided, self-paced tour of the food, farms and sights of Vernon’s BX region
This fall, you’re invited to “Know Your Farmer, Explore the BX”—to connect with local food, to better know your farmers and how they are farming, and to explore all the BX has to offer. The BX is a rich agricultural region with lots of walking and hiking trails, and is the perfect place to get out and explore your own backyard.
The BX Farm Tour is hosted by the North Okanagan Land to Table Network, in partnership with funders, farmers and local supporters. This year, to play it safe due to COVID, you can tour all of the farms via video. We hope that next year we can meet on the farms, with farmers, in person!
Drive, bike or walk the route and take an afternoon or a day. The BX Farm Tour is yours to explore, your way.
Farmstands and video tours
Saturdays & Sundays from September 11th - October 3rd (10 am - 3 pm)
Four weekends of farmstands and video farm tours! At each stop, you can scan a QR code with your smartphone and be connected with a video that highlights the farm, its products, and the people that make it happen. You’ll also have the chance to check out the farmstand and shop for products that were grown or made right on the farm.
Learn more about our featured farms below, and don’t forget to check out the other must-see spots in the BX!
Farm open day
October 9th @ Curlew Orchard
If fires and COVID permit, we’ll be celebrating the end of our farm tour with a farm open day at Curlew Orchard. You’ll have the opportunity to meet the farmers, browse local vendors, engage with the local community and more—all in the serene setting of Curlew’s 20-acre farm that overlooks the hills and lakes of the North Okanagan.
More details will be released as soon as they’re available.
