3rd Annual BX Farm Tour

A tour of the food, farms and sights of Vernon’s BX region

On September 16th and 17th, you’re invited to “Know Your Farmer, Explore the BX”—to connect with local food, to better know your farmers and how they are farming, and to explore all the BX has to offer. The BX is a rich agricultural region with lots of walking and hiking trails and is the perfect place to get out and explore your own backyard.

The BX Farm Tour is hosted by the farmers of the BX, with support from the North Okanagan Land to Table Network, Tourism Vernon and other local partners.

This year, each farm has different options for exploring – from open farm-stands, self-guided or organized tours and on-farm events!

You can drive, bike or walk the route and take an afternoon or a day.
The BX Farm Tour is yours to explore, your way.

Tour our gardens and learn about foraging, edible plants and options for planting and harvesting. From our edible garden to our pollinator garden and our health & healing garden we hope you will find some great ideas, some new information and just enjoy seeing what we are creating up here in the mountains. Learn about the BX Ranchlands Development Plan

BX Ranchlands - Info Booth

The BX Ranchlands is approximately 134 acres of agricultural land located on the outskirts of Vernon, with historical significance to the area. Local residents know the area for its perimeter walking trail; what you may not realize is that a development plan has been proposed to transform this site into a community-owned agricultural park. The intention is to have users, such as farmers, community organizations, Indigenous groups, and school groups accessing the BX Ranchlands for agriculture, research, and land-based educational opportunities by Spring 2025.

Stop by to learn more about the plan, view the site map and speak to BX/Swan Lake Resident Association members, and RDNO and Land to Table staff.

Address: 4122 East Vernon Road
Hours: Information booth each day 10am-4pm
Categories: Info booth; informative handouts; walking trail
