6th Annual BX Farm Tour

A tour of the food, farms, and sights of Vernon’s BX region!
September 19th and 20th, 2026

You’re invited to “Know Your Farmer, Explore the BX”—to connect with local food, to better know your farmers and how they are farming, and to explore all the BX has to offer. The BX is a rich agricultural region with lots of walking and hiking trails and is the perfect place to get out and explore your own backyard.

The BX Farm Tour is hosted by the farmers of the BX, with support from the North Okanagan Land to Table Network Society, RDNO, Butcher Boys, Tourism Vernon, Vernon Museum and other local partners.

This year, each farm has a special something we are featuring to keep it fresh and fun – visit from 10 am to 4 pm to explore our farm stands, engage in self-guided or organized tours, and participate in on-farm events! It will be a fun day for the whole family to enjoy.

You can drive or bike the route, take an afternoon or the weekend.
The BX Farm Tour is yours to explore, your way.

Learn about the sncəcmałqtn Agricultural Park

sncəcmałqtn Agricultural Park

The sncəcmałqtn Agricultural Park, formerly referred to as the BX Ranchlands, was recently renamed in partnership with the Okanagan Indian Band, to align with the Syilx territory it resides on – it’s meaning is “place of small crops or gardens” (hear the Syilx pronunciation here). This site is approximately 134 acres of agricultural land located on the outskirts of Vernon, with historical significance to the area. Local residents know the area for its perimeter walking trail; what you may not realize is that a development plan has been proposed to transform this site into a community-owned agricultural park. The intention is to have users, such as farmers, community organizations, Indigenous groups, and school groups accessing the park for agriculture, research, and land-based educational opportunities by Spring 2025.

Learn more about agricultural opportunities here: sncəcmałqtn Agricultural Park

Stop by to learn more about the plan, view the site map, and speak to BX/Swan Lake Resident Association members.
